Poudre Canyon Fire Protection District
Building Project
Fire Station/Community Centers Preliminary Designs Available:
It’s an exciting time in the Fire District. As you can see on the following pages we have schematic designs for our two new Fire Station/Community Centers. These are preliminary designs and are ready to be critically evaluated by District residents and property owners. We have scheduled two open houses so you can see first-hand what the plans look like and meet Justin Larson, of JCL Architecture Inc., our architect. You are invited to attend an open house to contribute your ideas and suggestions to Justin .
The first open house will be during the Upper Poudre Canyon Association’s regular pot luck dinner on April 13th at the upper community building starting at 6:00 PM.
The second open house will be at the Poudre Park Community Building on April 14th from 6:00 B 9:00 PM.
The District has received a $400,000 grant from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs to be used toward construction. By combining this with the money that will be generated from the voter-approved mill levy increase we have enough money to construct the first building.
The Board of Directors has decided that the need for a new station is greater in the upper canyon so that new building will receive priority. Board president Bette Blinde is working on grant requests to fund the construction of the lower building.
The design of the buildings has been a collaborative effort between the architect and two building committees, one from the upper canyon and one from the lower. These dedicated canyon residents have been meeting often and regularly with Justin. The plans you see following are the results of their hard work over several months duration.

Folks interested in working on the construction or bidding any aspect of these two building should contact Bill Sears at 224-1189.
